2017 Recap

Over 350 people from organizations, non-profits, businesses, high school students, and the faith community across Snohomish County and beyond converged on the Lynnwood Convention Center for the third annual At the Edge of Amazing – Snohomish County Health Summit: Courage 2 Care.

The event featured two amazing keynote speakers. Dr. Ben Miller provided attendees with valuable information about the tie between health and relationships, and how communities can take action to transform health by building these relationships.   Dr. John Medina energetically enlightened the audience with the biology behind stress, empathy and mindfulness from a neuro-scientific perspective, and how to implement “Brain Rules” into community living.

Attendees participated in a great selection of breakout sessions including, Integrating Restorative Practice to Build Resilient and Restorative Communities, Utilizing Collective Impact to Solve the Opioid Epidemic, How Mental and Emotional Well-being is Central to Overall Health, and Caring for Those Who Fall Through the Gaps Without Creating More Gaps.

The summit also provided results and information from the Snohomish County Health and Well-being Monitor, and how to engage in LiveHealthy2020 Community Health Accelerators  to achieve bigger gains through this unique , collaborative playbook.

In addition to networking during the breaks, summit goers connected with 40 exhibitors including the first LiveHealthy2020 Alley, highlighting the work and programs of several LiveHealthy2020 Signatories.
